Rumors are swirling that an update to Disney's MyMagic+ system may be released as early as April. This update could bring about 2 of the most requested features to the program.

Additional FastPass Reservations from The My Disney Experience App

Since its initial release, Disney has continued to adjust the FastPass+ system. Originally adding the ability to book additional FastPass reservations after your 3 advanced reservations were used. The major flaw in this system was the fact that you had to locate a FastPass+ kiosk to do so. And then wait in the line at the kiosk to make your reservation. It didn't really matter what you made a reservation for, just that you got one in the system. Once you made your reservation, you were free to make changes to the time or even to the ride or attraction in the My Disney Experience App. For the past 2 years guests have been asking why they couldn't simply make the initial reservation through the app and skip the kiosk all together. Well if the rumors are true, the update coming out in April will finally allow for that.

The Introduction of "StoryMaker"

One of the original ideas behind the MyMagic+ experience was the use of near-field-communications to personalize your Disney experience. Disney characters greeting you by name. Personalized messages in rides and attractions. Even personal happy birthday greetings from cast members. The program has never fully been utilized. Now details are cropping up about a new program call "StoryMaker" which takes advantage of the full capabilities of the MagicBands and MyMagic+ to personalize your experience. There are numerous ways Disney could use this technology to bring some extra magic to guests. For now we will have to wait for more details on the "StoryMaker" program and how Disney will use it.

There are plenty of changes guests would like to see come to the MyMagic+ experience. If these 2 additions are included in the next update, they will be a welcome improvement to the system. What do you think? Would these changes improve your MyMagic+ experience? Are there other changes that you think Disney needs to address first?
